Unicorn – A reliable and well proved bike from Honda. The first Unicorn version was launched in India during 2005 by Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI). The whole bike was built and designed from scratch by the Research and Development team of Honda based in Osaka, Japan. Many new features are incorporated considering the Indian road conditions. As we reported earlier, Yamaha has launched new Fazer in India. The new Fazer’s engine capacity is 153cc with the maximum power of 14bhp @7500rpm, maximum torque of 14nm @6000rpm.

New Bajaj Pulsar 150cc DTS-i UG4 - Review

Bajaj Auto has launched Pulsar 150cc DTS-i UG4 model with cosmetic changes. I did a test drive yesterday. I felt UG4 rocks than UG3 version of p150cc.

The embossed 3D pulsar logo on tank, absolute black treatment in all and tank scoops are visual changes on UG4 model. The other major change is on clutch assembly. Bajaj has modified the clutch plate assembly in UG4 as it is in the classical pulsar. The clutch was very smooth and flexible to operate.


Bajaj Auto has got good feedback for this clutch plate assembly change.

Definitely Pulsar rocks!!!

Yamaha FZ16 - Bike review

FZ16 - A new great styled stunning naked bike from Yamaha. FZ16 is great competitor in its own way to 150CC segment with other bikes Pulsar, Apache, CBZ Xtreme, Hunk, Unicorn and GS150R. It comes with some new features to two-wheeler market of India.

The best features of FZ16:
1. Full Digital meter console including tachometer.
2. Tubeless tyres for both wheels - helps to reduce the weight.
3. Head light doom – which makes huge difference with other bikes in India. Headlight is very bright gives high beam clearly.
4. Huge looking fuel tank is comes with three pieces unit with plastic resin covers for outer covering.
5. The rear monoshock suspension is too good and smooth. FZ16 is third bike in India to feature Monoshock suspension. (1 - Unicorn, 2 - R15)

FZ16 does not come with FI technology, crash guard, rear disc brake and kick start. Finally it does not looks so odd with front number plate, but still it kill the stunning stylish look of the bike.

New Suzuki GS150R Review, Features

The Suzuki GS150R, which will take on Pulsar 150 DTS-i, Hunk, CBZ Xtreme and Unicorn in the 150cc segment, is competitively priced at Rs 59000 ex-showroom, Delhi. Styled with inspiration from Suzuki’s international superbike GSX-R, GS150R is a mean looking machine. The bikini fairing, pilot lamps mounted on either side of wolf eyed headlamps is not exciting but looks pleasing. But the real attraction is the rear part of the GS150R. Stunning integrated LED tail lamp cluster also houses turn indicators on both sides, which is again GSX-R inspired.

GS150R is powered engine which respires through BS26 carburettor (NO Fuel Injection or FI). The engine also gets TPS (Throttle positioning Sensor). Suzuki says GS150R engine is tuned to ride better for city riding. The 150cc engine is designed to with an acceleration performance in the low to mid range speed which is important for city driving. GS150R engine is equipped with engine balancer technology. According to Suzuki, engine balancer technology of GS150R which seeks to minimize vibration. GS150R balancer system is fitted with balancer-driven gear fitted with a rubber damper for reducing the impact noises generated by its meshing with the balancer-driven gear.

GS150R 149cc engine develops 13.8bhp of peak power at 8500rpm and 13.4Nm of peak torque 6000rpm. It comes with six speed transmission. Gear shift pattern is 1-down and 5-up. As mentioned by Suzuki, GS150R will return a mileage of 60kmpl in City and 65kmpl in Highway.

The instrument console of the Suzuki GS150R has a digital speedometer, odometer and trip meter, and an analogue tachometer. The Suzuki GS150R offers two modes: Power and Economy. The Power mode allows the rider to gun the bike while the Economy mode helps conserve fuel.

GS150R length is 2095mm, its width is 775mm and it height 1120mm. The ground clearance of the GS150R is 160mm and its wheelbase stands at 1340mm. At the fore GS150R gets 2.75 -18 and at the rear Suzuki GS150R features fatter 100/90-18 tyre.

GS150R features disc brake at the front and drum brake at the rear. Hydraulics forks and gas charged rear suspension of GS150R will give you a comfortable ride. GS150R is neither Fuel Injected nor have monoshock suspension at the rear.

The Suzuki GS150R is available in Pearl Nebular Black, Metallic Flint Gray, Candy Max Orange, and Candy Dark Greenish Blue.
